Job description

We are a specialized cloud consulting firm supporting a key client in their data modernization journey. This client is a recognized leader in the cloud ecosystem, delivering tailored solutions across Data & AI, Cloud Native Development, Migrations through Modernization, and Managed Cloud Operations, with a strong presence in Azure and AWS environments.

To support a high-impact project, we are looking for a hands-on Azure Data Engineer to help design and implement scalable, reliable, and high-performance data architectures.

Job requirements

1. Data Engineering Services

  • Design and implement modern data architectures on Microsoft Azure, ensuring scalability, performance, and reliability.

  • Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines, covering ingestion, transformation, and delivery to support business insights.

  • Leverage Azure-native tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Functions for data orchestration and integration.

  • Develop data models to support analytical and operational use cases.

  • Optimize storage and data access for performance and cost-efficiency.

  • Ensure seamless integration of various data sources, maintaining data accuracy, consistency, and governance.

  • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot data pipeline performance issues and implement performance tuning strategies.

2. Documentation

  • Document data flows, architecture decisions, and pipeline logic to support ongoing knowledge sharing.

  • Maintain data source mappings, movement patterns, and integration points to promote data quality and reuse.

  • Support stakeholders in exploring warehouse/reporting artifacts and understanding data lineage.

3. Data Support & Collaboration

  • Work closely with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and deliver precise solutions.

  • Ensure compliance with data privacy, governance, and security policies.

  • Evaluate and enhance master and reference data management strategies.

  • Support change management, archival, and recovery processes for critical data assets.

  • Tackle unforeseen issues quickly and effectively, minimizing downtime or data loss.

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience building data solutions on the Azure ecosystem.

Strong command of Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and related services.

Experience in designing scalable data models and integrating disparate data sources.

Solid understanding of data governance, compliance, and best practices.

Excellent communication skills in English, and a collaborative mindset to work across cross-functional teams.

  2. Engagement Type: Full-time contractor (40h/week)

  3. Duration: Initial 3-month contract (potential for extension)
